Third Annual Eastern Panhandle WV GIS Users Group Meeting

The third annual Eastern Panhandle GIS Users Group Meeting meeting will be September 18 at U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, W.Va. The meeting is sponsored by Region 9 (Planning & Development Council), NCTC & the Jefferson County GIS Office.

This year's meeting will feature speakers on a wide range of topics and networking opportunities with a variety of attendees. As with previous meetings, the event is organized by local GIS users and offered at no cost! Featured presenters represent federal, state and local government, as well as private, non-profit and academic sectors. For anyone involved with GIS in the Eastern Panhandle and nearby areas, this is a "can't miss" event!

New events include a map contest and an information exchange session. To enter the map contest, please submit your name, entry title and a "PDF" file of your map to Todd Fagan at tfagan-at-jeffersoncountywv.org and bring your map to meeting.

The information exchange session will feature time to openly discuss what is on the minds of the local GIS constituency! Topics will be based on the most common suggestions and could cover technical questions, administrative, funding, staffing, training, etc. Please submit potential questions/topics to Todd Fagan at tfagan-at-jeffersoncountywv.org.

There will also be a free lunch provided to all attendees onsite at the NCTC's cafeteria courtesy of Region 9! However, seating is limited. Registration closes on Sept. 4th or when 80 registrations are received. To register for the meeting, call 304-263-1743 or email bkidwell-at-region9wv.com.
